What We Are Aiming For

We want everyone to be able to use this site, whatever device they are on and however they browse. We have built it to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, which is the standard most UK organisations work to.

We did this from the start rather than adding it afterwards, because retrofitting accessibility never works properly.

What That Means in Practice

• Body text is 18px and never smaller, and lines are kept short enough to read comfortably
• Every colour combination on the site has been checked for contrast
• You can use the whole site with a keyboard, and you can always see where you are
• Buttons and links are large enough to tap accurately on a phone
• Text can be enlarged to 200 per cent without anything breaking or overlapping
• Images have descriptions, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers
• Nothing flashes, auto-plays or moves unless you ask it to
• The site works without cookies and without analytics

Where we know we fall short

We would rather tell you than let you find out.

At the moment we are not aware of anything on this site that falls short of the standard we have set ourselves. There is no embedded booking calendar, no third-party chat widget and no video player, which is usually where a site's accessibility problems come from.

That is not a claim of perfection. It means we have tested what is here and found nothing outstanding. If you find something we have missed, please tell us using the details below and we will fix it.

How We Test

We check every page with a keyboard, with browser zoom, on a phone, and with automated contrast and accessibility tools. We review this statement annually, or whenever we make a significant change.
